The new EVO VIII shows it self to the people with a new aggressive dress. Some people says that it is an EVOlution of the EVO IV. Infact its bonnet looks like to the old Mitsubishi. EVO VIII as at disposal for the customers front dumper spoilers to increase the aggressivity and downforce. Japanese tests on EVO VIII declare a double speed of Super AYC compared to its predecessor! Also, thanking the new setting of ACD, the understeer was eliminated.

Resetted new suspensions decrease the rolling and the pitching to have a better sensibility on the steer and precision on driving. The engine is just the same mithic 4G63 which has made the history of the famous Skyline's engine. Morever in this field there are two novelties. Alluminium pistons and forged conrods have been reinforced  to increase the affidability during an intensive use.

The engine is 2,5 Kgs lighter and the pressure of the turbo in overboost has been increased to 1,25 bar, allowing large addition of the torque to 40 Kgm.

New gearbox with 6 speed, coming directly from the indestructible W5M51, is still shorter. The 6^th speed has become slightly longer which makes the EVO VIII to reach the important speed of 270 Km/h to rpm cutter. Accelerations are also changed due to the 40 Kgm of torque. EVO VIII is the same as EVO VI from 0-100 Km/h and even better from 0-160 Km/h and from 0-1000 Mts.

Aerodynamics has been improved increasing ground effect modifying the underbody airflow. This improvement is at advantage of brakes disc which now are cooled in a more efficient way. Cx is improved. The intercooler airflow is increased of 20%.

Mitsubishi gave us a save of weight on the engine and also on the EVO. The rear spoiler is made in carbon fibre and the Enkei wheels are lighter of 800 grs. each, carring an improvement on the unsprung weight.

Last but not less important. Has been increases the body stiffness with additional reinforcements on the strategic points of the body.

Available colors: yellow, blue, satellite silver, white, red, black.

The EVO will arrive in Italy in Autumn/Winter 2003.
